Kathmandu City Tour

The Himalayan mountains encircle the valley in which Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is located. Durbar Square, located in the center of the ancient city's confusing lanes, comes to life during the religious festival of Indra Jatra, which features masked dances. A 2015 earthquake caused significant damage to or destruction of several of the city's historic landmarks. The wooden Hindu temple Kasthamandap and the palace Hanuman Dhoka in Durbar Square are being renovated.

ITINERARY

1. Pashupatinath Temple
The temple of Lord Shiva is the holiest Hindu pilgrimage site and is located 5 kilometres to the east of Kathmandu. Everyone is fascinated by the ornate pagoda homes, fearful linga, or phallic representation of Lord Shiva. Small temples are also devoted to other gods. In 1979, Pashupatinath was included to the UNESCO list of world historic sites. In 879 AD, this location housed a Shiva temple. However, King Bhupatindra Malla constructed the current temple in 1697 AD. The Pagoda structure is embellished with an exquisite woodcarving, a silver entrance, and a roof that has been gold-plated. Hindu visitors from all around south Asia are worshiping Lord Shiva, the god of destruction, in rows of Shiva temples. "Arya Ghat" is located next to the temple at the Bagmati River's side.

 2. Kathmandu Durbar Square
It is the ancient royal residence constructed between the 12th and the 18th centuries. The Durbar Square, which represents the social, religious, and cultural life of the Nepalese people, was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979. The solemnity of the coronation of the Nepalese kings takes place there.

 3. Temple of Kumari
In Nepal, Kumari stands in for the living goddess. The girl is chosen from a family of Buddhists. Hanuman dhoka Palace houses the temple. Wood was used to create the temple. Most afternoons, Kumari greets people from her balcony window. Up until the age of thirteen, when another Kumari takes her place, she is confined in her palace. Her feet are never permitted to touch the earth, and she only leaves the house on exceptional occasions.

 4. Swayambhunath /Monkey Temple
In 1979, Syambhunath was included to the UNESCO World Heritage List as a monument. It is located atop a hillside in the Kathmandu valley about 77m above sea level, 3km west of Kathmandu City. It is one of Nepal's most revered Buddhist sites and the greatest location to see religious peace there.

 5. Bouddhanath
Khasti is another name for Bouddhanath, which was included to the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979. One of the biggest stupas in South Asia, Bouddhanath is the center of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. Overhead, 36 meters away, the white looms. Boudha and Nath, two distinct words, are combined to form the name "Boudhanath." The word "Boudha" means "knowledge," and "Nath" means "Lord." Boudhanath is therefore translated as "the Lord of knowledge."
